(This poem is dedicated to the creativity of my father, Mark.) |
|
It is: |
the cause and effect of our life, in line |
on equal mirror footing. |
A dance with intention upon |
notes set by fate, |
seeking ultimately what we know to find; |
already a child divine. |
Drawing influence in our breath, then |
in exhale, the mark already made, |
we complete a cycle of potential |
born from our position between |
stimuli |
and independent responses then made. |
Yet, |
beneath all we soberly know, |
hidden in what we conceive as conscious reaction, |
lies a mysterious truth, |
the basis of our action. |
It brought us to this point |
and leads us forward |
into the somehow familiar?, unknown! |
Like the wind on the tree |
and the tree on the wind |
we carry what is, will, and has been, |
aware or not of our dual effective matter. |
For both you and me, beautifully, |
that is the way nature set it to be. |
