Below you will find the graphics to a CD album followed by the poem, both created by Sara, in support of Hardy Mertens composition, “Lourdes Maria”.
Hardy composed this piece of music for harmony band after the release of Madonna’s ‘Ray of Light’ album and the birth of her first child, Lourdes, to whom the work is dedicated. 'Ray of Light' presents itself as a sensitive album, reflective of human vulnerabilities and the power of love that can guide our moments of choices and our evolving compassion. We believe becoming a mother may have had an enormous influence on the deeper voice within ‘Ray of Light’, which of course, has the amazing power of reaching millions, and this inspired us to write a reflective piece in homage of the birth of Lourdes.
It is an homage to the love and trust and learning between mother and daughter, a symbolism of our all being either parent or child, and capable of opening ourselves to another caring, growing human being.
When we can all find the courage and trust to develop the pure beauty that was given to us at birth, and then look to each other as an open honest mirror of encouragement, we have a better chance of breeding peace and a balanced evolution in our lives.
This piece of work is a gift to Lourdes. A hope that she, followed stronger by each succeeding generation, has the power to cherish all which is real and beautiful and honest.

The CD contained a recording of Sara reading the poem set over the music. We sent this CD to Madonna, unfortunately with no response!!!

The fine, harmonic vibrations

in a voice polished true

upon the clarity

of one soul’s intentions,

found peace, abound

in love:

the ultimate invention:

Echoed now,

echoed

within the eyes of a child,

in essential trust,

so sacred,

inspiring even,

purer, broader

depth into the roots

of all creation.

A little earth-angel

encourages love

to spread its wings,

to whisper its joy

to a million lives lost,

stimulating the will to employ

a taste,

an awakening, beautiful!:

forming a bridge, to

open new dimensions,

possibly better ways,

in which we all may live.
